Pixar’s Toy Story has always held a special place in the hearts of the multimedia creators of Freckled Sky. So when Pixar reached out to collaborate on a new musical adventure for Disneyland, they jumped to the occasion.

“TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure”, was just presented on the most immersive stage ever created at Disneyland Paris. This music-driven, epic adventure through the Pixar universes, takes the audience on a spectacular journey to the worlds of Toy Story, Coco, Up, Monsters, Inc., and Finding Nemo.

Immersive Live Stage

Freckled Sky collaborated with the magnificent Disneyland Paris team to elevate the story for the “TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure”. They brought their signature mixed-reality production expertise to create a cinematic experience on a live stage. In this production viewers cannot distinguish what is happening on the stage from what they see on the screen from their favorite animated movies. The Freckled Sky team created Pixar-style multidimensional scenes by building seamless connections between multimedia, scenery, and performers.

William Close set up his Earth Harp on the 300 west block and attached the strings to the Galleria trees. Not only was the performance a beautiful sight for the eyes, it also was a treat for the ears.

The body of The Earth Harp rests on the stage while the strings travel over the audience, extending up to 1000 ft. in length, and attach to the back of the venue, turning every space into an instrument.

Inspired by the Frank Lloyd Wright quote “architecture is frozen music”, Close creates musical installations that use the architecture as part of the instrument. The Earth Harp has been installed in some of the most iconic destinations in the world such as The Coliseum in Rome, The Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center in the US, The Seattle Space Needle, the temples of Vietnam, Grand Theater of Shanghai International Arts Festival, Brazil’s Theatro Municipal in São Paulo, The Dhow Harbour in Qatar, and major US festivals like Coachella, Bumbershoot, Burning Man and Lightning In A Bottle.

Something Wicked This Way Comes

The musical “Something Wicked This Way Comes” is based on the novel by Ray Bradbury, music & lyrics by Neil Bartram, book by Brian Hill, and directed & choreographed by Rachel Rockwell. The musical is set in 1938. A small town. A mysterious carnival. And two boys bent on escaping the midway of life to find adventure, and themselves. The hypnotic power and dark poetry of Ray Bradbury’s classic novel Something Wicked This Way Comes sings and seduces in this bold musical. With an extraordinarily magical and unique visual world, this traveling carnival sparked to life in this musical featured in the Delaware Theatre.
