The Los Angeles-based ensemble’s cinematic soundscapes draw upon the virtuosic skills and diverse ethnic backgrounds of its members: Iranian santoor master Hamid Saeidi, innovative Israeli bassist Itai Disraeli, sought-after American percussionist M.B. Gordy, and the exceptionally expressive Canadian-American violinist Lili Haydn, whose passion and fluid mastery of her instrument enchant in every song.

With compositions that meld sacred/classical traditions of both East and West with trance-inducing, ancient grooves, the result is at times both stately and rapturous, a sultry and passionate instrumental music that seems to emanate from a profoundly deep wellspring.

Opium Moon’s debut album received a Grammy Award for Best New Age Album.

Toronto-born violinist Lili Haydn, is a twice-nominated Grammy winner (2018 Grammy win) with her band Opium Moon. She is a distinguished film/TV composer with 18 feature films, Netflix’s hit show Ginny & Georgia, and various awards to her credit.

She’s been nominated this year (2023) with her song “Marriage Is A Dungeon” in the Netflix Original Series “Ginny & Georgia” – for the Emmy Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics 2023.

Her work has been featured in more than 50 films. A dedicated social activist with a political science degree from Brown University, Lili has done four TED presentations — including one with Opium Moon in Mumbai, India — and performs regularly at benefits for such organizations as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and The Feminist Majority.

Solo Career

Her six solo albums have been NPR favorites (“Heifetz meets Hendrix”), and her collaborations with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Sting, Roger Waters, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, George Clinton’s P-Funk Allstars, Hans Zimmer, and the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan are legendary, including performances at Carnegie Hall, the Vienna Opera House, and the Hollywood Bowl.

Britain’s Got Talent Performance with James Arthur

Freckled Sky produced a magical piece for James Arthur’s performance at Britain’s Got Talent live semi-final. Britain’s Got Talent invited James Arthur – former X Factor singer – to perform during the live semi-finals. The singer performed his song “Falling Like the Stars” which was produced by Freckled Sky and blew the audience away.

The Freckled Sky team is creates new forms of entertainment using high-end technologies. Freckled Sky’s audition was a combination of video projections depicting rain effects and colors, water, and dance to portray the story of a man and woman trying to stay together in the face of an omnipotent being. Moved by the performance, Howard Stern pressed his Golden Buzzer to send Freckled Sky straight to the Quarterfinals. Heidi revealed later that she wanted to use the Golden Buzzer on Freckled Sky as well, but Howard beat her to it.

Freckled Sky’s interactive water projection performance became part of P!nk’s sensational show for the BRIT Awards 2019. P!nk capped off the special night with an epic performance of some of her biggest hits, which served as a breathtaking reminder of why she was this year’s recipient of the outstanding contribution to music award.

Freckled Sky said that it had been an unbelievable experience working with P!nk and Baz Halpin on this project.

Brit Awards 2019

The 2019 Brit Awards was held on 20 February 2019 at the O2 Arena in London. It was the 39th edition of the British Phonographic Industry (BIP) annual pop music awards.

P!nk Performance

The singer kicked off her medley with her latest single, “Walk Me Home”, which she had just released hours before. She sang in a fuzzy robe as she made her way from a dressing room to the stage. Switching to a billowy red feather cloak, P!nk descended upon center stage in an aerial hoop for “Just Like Fire,” which of course included plenty of flames.

The rest of P!nk’s performance put the focus on her dynamic vocals yet delivered a plenty awe-inspiring spectacle as she sang “Just Give Me a Reason,” “Try” and “What About Us.” Dan Smith joined for “Just Give Me a Reason”.

The song “Try” featured Freckled Sky‘s striking visuals and rain pouring down on both P!nk and one other dancer. The moving performance left the audience in awe.
