Kaila Mullady is the 2015 & 2018 World Beatbox Champion, the 2014 American Vice Beatbox Champion, 3x Loop Station Champion, and 3x reigning Beatrhyme Champion. Kaila performs all over the world, infusing beatboxing, singing, rapping, and theater to push the boundaries of creativity and show just what the human instrument is capable of. You can catch Kaila currently performing in Lin Manuel Miranda’s Broadway Comedy Improv Hit Show, “Freestyle Love Supreme.”

Dizzy Senze 

Dizzy Senze is the 2023 Battle Champs Emcee Champion and the 2023 Emcee World Champion. She has engineered for powerhouse corporations (Nickelodeon, Interscope Records, etc), photographed top-tier artists and companies (KRS-One, Sesame Street, etc), shared the stage with legendary artists (Kendrick Lamar, Talib Kweli, etc) and taught people from all over the world. Dizzy is currently on the cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway show, Freestyle Love Supreme. Whether through jam sessions or big stages, Dizzy’s goal is always finding new ways to change the world.

Aneesa

Aneesa is a vocalist, actress, and artist. She debuted on Broadway as an original cast member of Freestyle Love Supreme and as Billie Rae Valentine in the World Premiere of Trading Places at the Tony Award-winning Alliance Theatre. Aneesa’s regional credits span a diverse range of productions, including Sister Act the Musical, Rent, Chicago, Seussical, and more. Her voice over work can be seen as a reoccurring guest on PBS’s Alma’s Way. She also is featured on Netflix in films like Vivo and tick, tick…BOOM! Additionally, Aneesa has been featured on Disney Channel, Sesame Street, and Rolling Stone.

Richard Baskin Jr

Richard Baskin Jr., is a versatile entertainer, making a mark on the NYC scene as a vocalist, pianist, composer, orchestrator/arranger, educator, and actor. Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, he grew up singing and playing in church with many musical influences including: gospel, Motown, jazz, R&B, pop, rock, soul, and country. Those experiences allowed him to win the top prize at the Amateur Night Competition at the Apollo Theatre (Harlem, NY) in 2007.

After graduating from Western Michigan University and Indiana University with Jazz Studies degrees – he returned to New York to pursue a music career. He produces his own shows with his band, Ricky B. & the Soul Patrol – at NYC musical institutions such as Feinstein’s/54 Below,  and The Triad Theatre.

Richard works as an in-demand Musical Director and consultant for new musicals and workshops. He is currently on the faculty at Manhattan School of Music.

Explore the powerful chants and sounds of different tribes from around the world through the Hum’s musical content. The soundscapes pay tribute to our ancestors with original sounds and frequencies that feature their specific “hums”, bringing you closer to nature and earth.

The Hum allows you to take a moment to reset and to surrender to the sound and let yourself be immersed inside its frequencies. Custom-made soundscapes can be curated to highlight a specific culture and/or to resonate with a brand identity. Examples of soundscapes are frequencies from the Amazonian jungles, hums from the Inuits from the Icy Lands, rhythms of the Australian Aborigines tribes and Tamil tribes of India, and Japanese chants of the Ainu tribe.

The body of The Earth Harp rests on the stage while the strings travel over the audience, extending up to 305 meters in length, and attach to the back of the venue, turning every space into an instrument. The Earth Harp earned William a finalist slot on the TV show America’s Got Talent and was recently named by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s longest playable stringed musical instrument.

William studied sculpture and sound design at the Art Institute of Chicago and his work explores the connection between architecture and music. Inspired by the Frank Lloyd Wright quote “architecture is frozen music”, Close creates musical installations that use the architecture as part of the instrument. The Earth Harp has been installed in some of the most iconic destinations in the world such as The Coliseum in Rome, The Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center in the US, The Seattle Space Needle, the temples of Vietnam, Grand Theater of Shanghai International Arts Festival, Brazil’s Theatro Municipal in São Paulo, The Dhow Harbour in Qatar, and major US festivals like Coachella, Bumbershoot, Burning Man and Lightning In A Bottle.

Close has also created a couple of permanent Earth Harp installations, one as part of Cirque du Soleil’s show “Ka” at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the other as part of a 1,300 seat theater aboard the Royal Caribbean International’s ship Quantum of the Seas. William is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Earth Harp Collective, an internationally renowned performance group that combines the creative forces of artists, musicians, dancers, and aerialists.

Lightship Beatbox was formed in 2016 by champion beatboxers Kaila Mullady and Mark Martin. They met in the New York City in the hip-hop and beatbox scene in 2011, where they bonded over their love of beatboxing, improvisation, and expressive storytelling.They battled as a team in the American Beatbox Championships, with Kaila eventually winning the World Beatbox Championships twice, and Mark winning the American Beatbox Championships.

Lightship Beatbox adds the unexpected spice to any meeting!  Customization options include interaction with audience members and executives for fun “call and response” experiences and performing world-class rap / beatboxing performances that integrate client themes, messaging and branding.

Kaila Mullady

Kaila Mullady is a New York based performer, and is a two time Beatbox World Champion, the 2014 American Vice Beatbox Champion, 3x Loop Station Champion and 3x reigning Beatrhyme Champion. Kaila performs all over the world fusing beatboxing, singing, rapping, poetry and theater to push the boundaries of creativity and show what the human instrument is capable of.

A multi-instrumentalist, KM uses a loop station with guitar, beatboxing and vocals to become a one woman band. An original member of champion beatbox crew The Beatbox House, she has since moved on to form a champion beatbox team with 2016 American Beatbox Champion, Mark Martin, called Lightship.

Featured on TV such as The Harry Connick Jr Show, The Ice Tee and Coco Show, TMZ, The Gong Show and Vh1 Top 100 and commercials such as The Gap, SpoonFlower and Clinique.

One of the most fulfilling parts of Kaila’s career has been teaching workshops promoting reading and writing, as well as helping students find their own “soul music”. Giving back to communities is an integral part of Kaila’s creative process which motivated her to take over producing the American Beatbox Championships in 2016 which is the largest platform for Beatboxers in North America.

Mark Martin

New York City artist and musician Mark Martin is best known for playfully blurring the lines between language and sound through his energetic and dynamic blend of theater, jazz and beatboxing. Winner of the 2016 American Beatbox Championships and the international 2016 BeatRhyme Battle, Mark has battled in and judged various international battles. His blending of storytelling with vocal exploration led him to a 5 year run with international touring musical theater company Voca People, as well as featured appearances on MTV’s hit comedy show Joking Off. Martin has shared with stage with artists such as Desiigner, Lettuce, Gramatik, Thievery Corporation, and Emancipator. Mark enjoys collaborating with other musicians, especially his partner and 2x World Beatbox Champion, Kaila Mullady, winning 2nd place in the 2016 American Beatbox Championships in the 2v2 category.

Mark seeks to inspire others to find their voice through playful exploration and improvisation, and is involved in community building within the beatboxing community as one of the producers of the American Beatbox Championships.
